Auth Method

The Auth Method is Deep Tissue technique that uses slow and precise forearm strokes to access the deeper layers of muscles. The massage is exacerbated by putting the muscles "on" & "off" a stretch.

Auth Method Benefits Include:

  • Decreased chronic muscle tension
  • Realignment of body
  • Injury Rehabilitation
  • Increased Flexibility & ROM

If you are attempting to resolve a chronic condition or injury, you may have to have a few treatments before you begin to feel the improvement you want. You can’t undo years of damage in one massage session.

At certain points a Deep Tissue Massage may become uncomfortable and cause minor pain. It is important that you communicate with the massage therapist at all times.  When things become too painful and outside your comfort range, your body contracts and undoes the work that was done to loosen the tissue. *However some level of discomfort is normal to address the deeper adhesions in the tissue

The biggest mistake beginners make is that they try to “tough it out”. Don’t hesitate to give your therapist feedback to find the right pressure that works with you.

Deep Tissue Precautions:

  • Blood Clot disorders like, Thrombophlebitis, Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT), and Peripheral Vascular Disease (PVD). Blood clots may become dislodged. *If you have blood clots or are at risk, a note from your doctor is required
  • Osteoporosis like conditions should avoid Deep Tissue because of increased risk of bone damage

If Discomfort is Experienced After a Deep Tissue Massage the Client Should:

  • Drink water to flush out toxins and rehydrate the muscles
  • Stretching can help to prevent muscle aches and pain
  • Rest & avoid strenuous activity to allow muscles to heal
  • Apply Ice to any areas that feel discomfort
